It really isn't fair. There is no justice in the world. How can it be that my 170lb friend can eat more than me and not gain weight?!

It's really frustrating.

You work out every day.

You eat the same boring meals.

You feel hungry all the time.

But your friend has abs year-round and eats like a horse.

You just want to give up, don't you?

Maybe the flab is worth the pizzas and Bud Light?

The sad thing about life is that... it isn't fair.

You've gotta play the cards you're dealt.

And you've gotta know yourself.

What you can and can't do.

Let me tell you a quick story.

About 2 years ago, I was 270lb after trying to diet for a bit.

I had gained close to 20lb in a few months when it seemed that I hadn't eaten too much to deserve such a weight gain.

I saw a buddy of mine in Virginia for a long weekend.

We ate, we drank - but here's the kicker.

My friend was 100lb lighter than me and ripped whereas I was bearmode (looking like a strongman).

He ate 50% more than me.

Matched me drink for drink.

I would eat 4 tacos, he had 6.

I ate 4 slices of pizza, he had 6.

After the bar, he would eat pizza, I just watched.

He would get a starter, I wouldn't.

In those 3 days together, I gained 5lb.

He didn't gain an ounce.

What is life?

It's unfair.

That's what.

As much as you can moan and complain - it doesn't achieve a thing.

Fine, so you're prone to gaining a little more weight.

Why don't you level the playing field?

Take some action to prevent weight gain so you can enjoy time with your friends.

Stop denying reality.

Some people can get away with a lot more overindulgence than you.

If this is you, you have got to be an adult about it.

Fast, eat lower calorie options before a big meal.

The next day, work out and eat fewer calories.

Do what you need to do.

That's life.

Unfair.

But you will rest easy knowing that you played your hand to the best of your ability.

Don't forget that aces can be cracked; you can win most hands with a bluff.

Not a poker player?

You can manipulate your self-knowledge to your advantage.

Just don't allow yourself to be dumbstruck when you fail to take action.

Living in a state of denial will be the end of you.
